Repair Kits and Local Repair Increase Costs

Increase cost of repair kits - They should be really expensive

Increase cost of local vehicle repairs - More expensive but roadside/LS Customs will always be cheaper

Reason is to increase RP for roadside/LSC and will also make people value there cars a bit more

I honestly think things should be left as is until 1.) there are more player owned garages for repairs/ towing spread across the map. LSC is a customization shop, as it should be. Like Diezel said, if you break down in Paleto, you're screwed. And 2.) someone figures out how to improve the idiot locals driving abilities.

I'm on the fence here:

I like the idea of emergency repairs being just that - a temporary fix that will get you to a local or player shop instead of 100% like-new condition.  I'm also for there being a stricter limit as to what can be repaired.

I don't think this type of temporary emergency kit should be terribly expensive though.  Consider not everyone is driving around in a $250k + supercar and the price isn't going to scale.

Instead, I think the balance would be local repair spots only taking the vehicle to ~90%. That 5-10%  hit on a work truck or beater isn't a big deal, but on a racing/performance vehicle it's more than enough incentive to go see LSC (or others!) for a tune-up.

If this is implemented I think it's important people not be entirely dependent on the availability of a handful of whitelist players. It would be a little different if this were a 200 player server with 3 or more shops spread across the map.  As such, I'd like to see this come with the option for a few more player-owned shops beyond LSC.  I see this working like a semi-whitelist business kind of like dealerships, with specific and/or limited functionality like paint/body/repair only.  There are several MLO shop locations around that are ready to go.

You know something you said had me thinking. There should really be a Advanced Repair Kit for expensive cars to get them to a shop. They are higher quality meaning higher expenses. If a repair kit for these cars costed $1000 - $2000 a kit people would feel more obligated to not smash them like a demo derby, and would cover the idea they are more expensive and needs a better patch on the roadside. This should be for cars 100k and over.

I think the availability of where LSC is and the amount of space there is to be goes against this idea. If there was more shops out there player owned maybe. As of right now I personally find the kits to be useful, but wouldn’t mind them being $300 instead. I don’t see LSC as the shop for repairs. It is there for cosmetics and mechanical upgrades. If someone RPs in any place but the city LSC is only as important as it is for upgrades. I’d recommend putting roadside onto a separate job. Something people can get paid hourly + tow bonus. If I break down in Paleto and call a tow, the last thing that would be helpful is needing to go to LSC. If they are bringing cars to other businesses more local then it kind of goes against the idea of calling LSC specifically for a tow.

I've always wondered how I can buy a $250,000 car, smash into a wall a few times and pay $150 to fix it with a RC or $400 at a station.

One thing I'd like to add. A repair kit shouldn't be able to 100% fix your vehicle. As it stands, you can pay $150 to buy a repair kit and it'll fix your vehicle to 100%. Realistically it should only be enough to get it to LSC or a Repair Shop. You can also completely avoid needed to go to repair shops and spend $500 on a repair, when a kit does the same thing and costs less money.
