Driving test
Current Issue
It has been noted to me that currently there is only 1 option for officers to give when someone is recklessly driving, this is the removal of any driving based licenses they own and it limits what an officer can do. Either you let them go with a warning or you strip them of the license.
Improvement
An improvement to this could be the addition of a driving school, with the introduction of Lawyers and the justice system it'd be nice to see people get given an option in regards to their license and for the PD to adapt a points based system for licenses.
For example :
Failure to Yield - 2 points
Failure to stop - 3 points
Running a red light - 3 points
Careless driving - 5 points
Reckless driving - 8 points
Once a player gains more than 10 points on their license it gets revoked.
What's the impact?
It would open up the window of interaction, it makes a traffic stop mean an officer needs to go through their MDT and actually check what points a person already has, from there then deciding the punishment to be given.
It would allow people to visit an open court day and appeal the points on their license creating an interaction for Lawyers & judges
An outcome to remove points on a license is sending people to driving school and completing a circuit to then reduce the points on this license.
Could also encourage people to actually pull over at a traffic stop as there is more ways than just fleeing to get out of the traffic stop
I like most of this and I agree this would be a good improvement. The only part I'm hung up on is the driving test. We took the driving test out because... well it sucks. Everyone knows how to drive and the test was tedious, boring, and did absolutely nothing to drive people to RP.
So what if instead of a road test, we make it a verbal test that has to be conducted by one of the lower court ranks? That way at least we're creating more RP for them. We even have a classroom they can use in the City Hall for it.
